upright

My upright bass has no name. A sticker inside says it was made in the Czech Republic. This is what's called a "half size" or "swing" bass, with a short scale length of only 38 inches. This is still my largest instrument. My best photo of it is of me playing it at church a few Christmases ago, and still not all of it is in the frame. It isn't heavy, but it is awkward to transport because of its bulk. It has a "Realist" pickup, which is a little foil square underneath the bass foot of the bridge. This delivers a nice, deep sound without the need of an additional preamp. I like my little bass.
